    APPLICATIONS & PROCEDURES:
    Alcam #50 is a Stainless Steel electrode for vertical down or standard position welding of austenitic stainless steels, such as 302, 304, 308, 347, 316L. This product is resistant to intergranular corrosion, and can be used to overlay steel for additional protection. The #50 is perfect for welding pipelines, fittings, tanks in high corrosivity environments such as paper mills and chemical plants, and clean environments of the food, dairy and distillery industries. Also, the #50 is great for sheet metal and other applications where excellent weldablity is required.

    Alcam 308L-16

    Conforms to AWS A5.4

    Superior weld with low heat transfer. A balanced chemistry electrode with a special spray type arc transfer that results in less heat input due to a closer arc gap that is easily maintained while welding. The coating insures dense porosity free deposits, and the slag is virtually self lifting.

    APPLICATIONS & PROCEDURES:

    Alcam 308L-16 is best used where service conditions are not severe, and on large parts where weld volumes are high. The 308L-16 is ideal in dairy, pulp and paper, textile dyeing, refinery and chemical equipment.

    The Alcam 308L-16 is ideal for fabrication and repair of 201, 202, 204, 301, 304, 308, 321 and 347 Stainless steel, as well as 304L, 308L, and other “L” grade base metals. This rod is also good for CF-8, CF-8, CF-20 and HF castings.

    The arc stabilizer specific to the Alcam 308L-16 flux makes this rod outstanding when working with limited duty, low voltage AC machines. The electrode retards moisture pick-up, and will automatically lower the moisture content to a safe level once the part is exposed to a drier atmosphere without the need of re-baking. Low carbon content reduces carbide precipitation.


    Alcam 309L-16

    High alloy / Low Carbon. The high alloy content of the Alcam 309L-16 makes is an exceptional alloy for welding similar and dissimilar alloys in wrought or cast form. The high balanced, high quality chemistry of this product provides for superior welding characteristics. Resistance to carbide precipitation is the result of the 309L-16’s low carbon content.

    A special spray type arc transfer results in less heat input due to a closer arc gap that is easily maintained while welding. The coating insures dense porosity free deposits, and the slag is virtually self lifting.

    APPLICATIONS & PROCEDURES:
    The 309L-16 is specific to welding 309 grade stainless steel base metal often found in high heat applications, such as kiln linings, boilers and furnaces. The 309L-16 is ideal for welding the 300 and 400 grades of stainless to carbon steel, welding the clad side of 18/8 clad steels, applying stainless linings to carbon steel shells, welding CH-20 and HH castings, and as a buildup material for marine propeller shafts.

    Corrosion resistance with added strength. The high molybdenum content of the 316L-16 provides added strength at high temperatures and extra corrosion resistance to high pH acids. The high quality and balanced chemistry give this electrode superior welding characteristics that any welder love.

    APPLICATIONS & PROCEDURES:
    The 316L-16 is ideal on 316L grades of stainless steels weldments, where carbon precipitation must be reduced, such as most Process type equipment fabricated with type 316L molybdenum bearing stainless steel.

The electrode retards moisture pick-up, and will automatically lower the moisture content to a safe level once the part is exposed to a drier atmosphere without the need of re-baking.

    The Alcam 316L-16 electrodes has a denser flux coating that keeps the core wires from overheating which allows for the full use of the rod. The bead will lay flatter with less discoloration and can be run colder than other electrodes.

    Alcam 317L-16

    APPLICATIONS & PROCEDURES:
    The 317L-16 is used to weld alloys of similar composition, and is custom manufactured for corrosion applications involving sulfuric and sulfurous acids and salts. The high quality composition of the 317L-16 is excellent for applications in the dyeing, chemical processing, petro-chemical industries, and is also used for surgical equipment and implants. The Alcam 317-L is specific to pollution control equipment where corrosion is too severe for 316-L, and applications where pitting is a problem in chlorine environments. Resists carbide precipitation due to the low carbon content.

    The arc stabilizer specific to the Alcam 317L-16 flux makes this rod outstanding when working with limited duty, low voltage AC machines.     Alcam # 51
    (High deposition low carbon electrode for molybdenum- bearing stainless steel)
    AC DC-R

    High Deposit, Machinable Stainless. This product utilizes a carbon steel core wire combined with a flux that leaves a stainless finish which can be applied to both carbon and high nickel materials. The large deposition stops warpage and machines excellent on shafts.

    APPLICATIONS & PROCEDURES:
    Welding 302, 304, 308, 347, 316, and 316L grade stainless steels. This electrode is excellent for the repair and fabrication of normal and low carbon molybdenum- bearing austenitic stainless steels. Alcam #51 is ideal for joining austenitic stainless steels with mild steels.

    This is the product of choice for welding pipes, fittings, tanks, etc., where corrosion resistance is a necessity, such as the paper mill and chemical plant industry. Alcam #51 is also great for thin gauge stainless steel commonly found in the dairy, food and distillery productions. The #51 can also be used for cladding steel to provide protection from corrosion.

    (Dissimilar Steel)

    Alcam #41
    (High Heat & Acid Stainless)

    High Heat, Corrosion Resistant, and Strong. When faced with high heat and acid conditions, this product will join and withstand adverse situations. Dissimilar combinations of Stainless, Iinconel® , Monel® , and steel are joinable. The high alloy content of this electrode produces deposits that are heat resistant up to 2190º F (1200º C). All position weldability, smooth beads, very low spatter and easy slag removal makes this electrode very popular in both production and maintenance applications.

    (High heat, Acid and Abrasion, Stainless Steel)
    DC-R Tig

    The Inconel® and Monel® Solution. This product is perfect for the joining of inconel Inconel® and monel Monel® to themselves or in combination to other metals. This is the best rod for the worst conditions. Works well in thermal cycling situations from high heat to sub zero temperatures. Alcam #43 is the choice for heat treating applications.

    Alcam 308
    Food processing, chemical, restaurant and refinery equipment. Used to weld stainless steels of similar composition; 201, 202, 301, 302, 304, 305, and 308

    Alcam 308L
    Dairy, pulp and paper, textile dyeing, refinery and chemical equipment. Low carbon content reduces carbide precipitation. Use to weld 304L, 308L, 321, and 347.

    Alcam 308LSi
    Applications where cosmetic appearance of the weld is important, such as furniture, restaurant and food equipment, appliances, and marine applications. High silicon content increases wettability, resulting in a smoother and flatter weld.

    Alcam 309
    Use to weld type 309 alloy common in furnace parts, high temperature containers and aircraft heater. Weld straight chromium steels when pre- and post- heat treatments are not possible. Join stainless steel to mild steel. Use for stainless cladding.

    Alcam 309L
    Resistance to carbide precipitation is provided by low carbon content. Use for overlaying, joining stainless steel to carbon steel, and build-up of propeller shafts on boats.

    Alcam 310
    Use to weld type 310 alloy common in heat exchangers, furnace parts, combustion chambers, paper digesters, and chemical equipment.

    Alcam 316
    Use to weld type 316 alloy for higher corrosion resistance and creep strength. Applications include equipment and machinery in the pharmaceutical, photographic, refinery, food, and chemical industries.

    Alcam 316L
    Used for weldments where carbide precipitation must be reduced. Ideal for process equipment fabricated with type 316L molybdenum bearing stainless steel.

    Alcam 316LSi
    High Silicon content improves wetting action, resulting in smoother and flatter weld deposits, therefore reducing finishing costs. Used in the dairy, food, pharmaceutical and chemical industries.

    Alcam317L
    Used in pollution control equipment where corrosion is too severe for type 316L, and in chlorine environments where pitting is a problem. Resists carbide precipitation due to the low carbon content.

    Alcam 320
    Used to fabricate process equipment from Carpenter 20, Duramet 20, and other similar alloys subjected to extreme corrosion by hot sulfuric acid. Also resists stress corrosion cracking.

    Alcam 347
    Use to join type 347 and 321 stainless steels. Columbium content reduces carbide precipitation and strengthens the weld metal at higher temperatures.

    Alcam 410
    Use to join type 410, 12% chromium air-hardenable stainless steel. Requires pre- and post- heat treatment.

    Alcam 430
    Use in petroleum process where high temperatures and sulfurous atmospheres are prevalent.
