APPLICATIONS
& PROCEDURES:
Alcam #50 is a Stainless Steel electrode for vertical down or standard
position welding of austenitic stainless steels, such as 302, 304,
308, 347, 316L. This product is resistant to intergranular corrosion,
and can be used to overlay steel for additional protection. The #50
is perfect for welding pipelines, fittings, tanks in high corrosivity
environments such as paper mills and chemical plants, and clean environments
of the food, dairy and distillery industries. Also, the #50 is great
for sheet metal and other applications where excellent weldablity
is required.

APPLICATIONS
& PROCEDURES:
Alcam 308L-16
is best used where service conditions are not severe, and on large
parts where weld volumes are high. The 308L-16 is ideal in dairy,
pulp and paper, textile dyeing, refinery and chemical equipment.
The Alcam 308L-16
is ideal for fabrication and repair of 201, 202, 204, 301, 304, 308,
321 and 347 Stainless steel, as well as 304L, 308L, and other “L”
grade base metals. This rod is also good for CF-8, CF-8, CF-20 and
HF castings.
The arc stabilizer
specific to the Alcam 308L-16 flux makes this rod outstanding when
working with limited duty, low voltage AC machines. The electrode
retards moisture pick-up, and will automatically lower the moisture
content to a safe level once the part is exposed to a drier atmosphere
without the need of re-baking. Low carbon content reduces carbide
precipitation.

APPLICATIONS

The 309L-16 is specific to welding 309 grade stainless steel base
metal often found in high heat applications, such as kiln linings,
boilers and furnaces. The 309L-16 is ideal for welding the 300 and
400 grades of stainless to carbon steel, welding the clad side of
18/8 clad steels, applying stainless linings to carbon steel shells,
welding CH-20 and HH castings, and as a buildup material for marine
propeller shafts.

APPLICATIONS

The 317L-16 is used to weld alloys of similar composition, and is
custom manufactured for corrosion applications involving sulfuric
and sulfurous acids and salts. The high quality composition of the
317L-16 is excellent for applications in the dyeing, chemical processing,
petro-chemical industries, and is also used for surgical equipment
and implants. The Alcam 317-L is specific to pollution control equipment
where corrosion is too severe for 316-L, and applications where pitting
is a problem in chlorine environments. Resists carbide precipitation
due to the low carbon content.
